Done, Matt!

You're not drunk if you can put your socks on while standing.

Hoping some gear I have on eBay sells cuz I took the plunge and have a. Tank on the way. Got one for $479. This time I'm not going to get rid of it!

Well, I swapped out the stock Russian-Made Groove Tubes 6V6 for a vintage USA RCA 6K6 last night and was completely blown away by the difference!!! It's one thing to read about and hear others discuss this change, but another entirely to experience it first-hand. The difference was palpable--gone was the harshness, the treble emphasis and the "electronic-ish' decay sound--in was the increased warmth, fullness, depth and drip clarity I was looking for!!! Also, while not a major difference, I did find that inserting tiny pieces of wood where the transducers were slack did seem to focus the drip.

The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Scimitars
Lords Of Atlantis
Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Jonpaul, who did you order your tubes through?

I literally just grabbed the most inexpensive tested old stock I could find on eBay. With shipping it came to $3.80!

The first time I became aware of a reverb tank was from the liner notes of a Tiki Tones album in '96. A friend of mine and I were looking at the stage layout on their inside CD cover and we were both like "A reverb tank? AWESOME!" So thanks Tiki Tones!

Ha ha ha,
you said tiny wood,

But cool deal on the improvements.

Ok, I'm gonna sound like a dumbass here but I've never changed tubes in any tube amps I've owned. Prompted by this post, I'm going to swap out the Groove Tube in my tank. Can I use anything that's listed as RCA 6K6 that is listed on ebay, such as RCA Raditotron 6K6GT?
