Permalink AVRI Jazzmaster with 1965 neck SOLD

New Topic
Goto Page: 1 2 Next

Cleaning house before the big move. I'm selling off the doubles that I have.

AVRI Jazzmaster body/wiring, Lindy Fralin Vintage Jazzmaster pickups, American Mustang Bridge, 1965 dot neck with binding and smaller headstock, 1965 L9XXXX plate and original 1965 Jazzmaster case. This was the main guitar I used on the Get Coco-naughty CD. It's either this one or my George Tomsco signed Jazzmaster, so I chose this one. $2550 OBO shipped

Matt, that's a very cool dot/bound neck on the Jazzy. A VERY rare piece! That's the most vintage-looking sunburst I've ever seen on a AVRI body.

Good luck with the sale...nice stuff, indeed. Smile

Thanks for the kind words! I don't think people really understand how rare the neck is. The bound/dot/small headstock neck was only in production for about 3 months before they went to the larger CBS headstock.

I know I have a 66 Jazzy with the dot neck w/ binding.. Note: large peg/head

Very nice Robby! I love the transition stuff. I think it makes things all the more cooler to have the little rarities.

I'd surely trade you this Jazzy for your Showman head...but I already have a Showman! And I got it from you! LOL I don't have the brownface one, though. See the single 12" with the tone-ring cab in the pic above? I picked that up not too long ago. It's lighter than the single 15" and sounds INCREDIBLE as well. I use the 15" more, though.

Took another pic to compare to yours. Only difference is the smaller head on mine.

Yeah I agree ... Also you guys in Arizona have a shop that sell his cab's direct huh?

TJ's Music closed its doors about 2 months ago. TJ still works out of his house, but he no longer carries any of Bob's Beaver Bottoms. My Bandmaster's cabinet is also one of Bob's creations. I took these photos for his website. The heads are my Fender Bandmaster and Showman, but the bottoms are both Bob's creations.

Hi Robby, long time no talk.
Nice Showman for sale, thats the only one I do not have, & I am very fond of blondes. I going to have to think about that.

Howdy Bob.. Jump over to my thread and will chat.. Matt's a top shelf guy! don't want to hijack this tread..

No worries here. Thanks for the compliment, though! Best of luck!

It's got quite a few watchers, but that doesn't really mean anything on eBay.

Still would like to see this baby go to someone on this list. Great guitar!!! Contact me.

Man I don't wanna sound like I'm telling you what to do. But, you should part that out.

I parted out an AV Telecaster once and made more than I did when I purchased it new.

That vintage neck should bring in atleast half of your asking price buy it self no?

Yes, you are correct. If it doesn't sell this time on eBay, I'm going to split it up. I hate to do it, but it seems to be the way it goes. I guess someone building their own Jazzy out of it is more "sentimental." Sad, but there are dealers out there that make their living out of buying up guitars, splitting them up, and selling them in pieces.

OK, it has less than a day on eBay. If it doesn't sell this time, I'll just sell the neck. I would prefer to trade the neck for an AVRI Jazzmaster neck plus some cash. I'll sell the neck for $1550 or go $1100 plus an AVRI neck.
