My apologies young Brian. I posted that thread the day I read it and was unaware of this previous thread. Picard Face Palm

Don't worry about it, Johnny! I missed the first thread too.

Isn't this comment, "The traditional garage band, the lifeblood of electric guitar sales, has given way to electro-pop made on a laptop," from the Fortune article just the sort of thing that kid http://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/18884/?page=1#p247483 who was so indifferent to Hendrix and other "old" musicians was referring?

It occurred to me that, just as kids today "socialize" with each other from their separate bedrooms using laptops, iPhones or iPads and not so much face-to-face, being in an actual band is just too old-fashioned. And it has a degree of difficulty unfamiliar to someone whose idea of challenging group fun is a multi-player online computer game.

On the other hand, the death of guitar-based pop music has been predicted before.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

No problem Johnny, I had mistakenly thought you had participated in this thread, so sorry about that. Also this thread has a lousy title, so I will edit it to make it more visible.
