Permalink FS: The nocturne UBANGI STOMP "gritch'stortion" a surf n turf rawker

New Topic
Goto Page: 1 2 Next

the Ubangi Stomp has:
an internal trimmer for controlling gain on the low end,
socketed vintage LM308AH opamp (the cool looking metal can),
and socketed Diodes too, so you can flip em around
for symmetrical or asymmetrical clipping.

if you like grindy raunch that doesnt hide the sound of your vintage fender amp with p-90s or filtertron/toaster pickups like I do.. A vintage rat pedal can get that sound if its tweaked
right. I like that sound
with my gretsch and with my dynasonic loaded sugarpine tele.

the Ubangi stomp will do that when its gain
is set low and its volume is up. I dialed it in for this.

Turn it up for fuzzy garage surf solo notes and full raunch
at max settings. even Davie Allan is using a Rat pedal these days!

what is this UBANGI STOMP pedal? its a cork sniffery R*t pedal but its not meant to be a clone. I like its platform when its tweaked
right for the gretsch in lower gain settings. Great for getting
sand in your pomade. Smile

first 10 in army helmet green.

Uhm, interested! Got some samples/video links? The website you linked is very slow.

The Hicadoolas

Sancho I will very soon. The website was slow? I have the cheapest cable internet and the products page popped up real quick. Are you running DSL or cable. and thanks for pointing that out to me. Smile

The Hicadoolas

first 15 are sold 5 left with the Fairchild metal can 308 opamp.

@Sancho, I checked it again and it pops up quick on both the iphone
and the kindle fire using wifi basic cable. Its it still slow on
your end. Any info would be helpful.

great look !
by the way, did you paint the enclosure yourself ? if you did, wich paint do you use ? and what about decals ? I've some DIY effects at home but still in their natural aluminium enclosure. I'd like to paint and stick layouts I've made with illustrator.
I was considering using this :

clepak.. that particular paint (pic you posted) is for RC cars and is for plastic. You will want to shoot several thin coats of primer, sand and then shoot your base coat of color. If you want to use transparent colors or "candy coat" try using a silver or gold base coat then shoot the candy over that.. lay down your graphics and then clear coat.
I'd also suggest you
get some "duplicolor" if you are going to use rattle cans, it goes on very smooth if you are careful.

I usually get a little more involved shooting my paint. I use matrix systems, house of kolor and roth flake.

I guess I won't be able to get a resust as god as yours if I use rattle cans but I don't want to invest in the proper material. I'll check the duplicolor chart and see if they have the metalic red I'm looking for. Do I need to apply a primer seal before duplicolor paint ?
Thanks for the info !

Tried it again @home and @work. Sorry to say, but it's rather slow. Some pictures take about 2 minutes to load.

The Hicadoolas

thanks for that update.. I guess I'll reduce the resolution, I think
they are all 640x480.

the Ubangi set with a tiny bit of grit?
tele is sugarpine with 10gauge strings amp is my blondeshell with

Tavo-your pedals are so f***ing cool! I may have to ditch my ME-70 multi-FX for my old Furman board just so I can use 'em!
