How about a podcast of surf tunes done by groups that don't typically do surf?

Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar.

Sounds like a great idea! When are you going to have it done by?

Oh, nice one, Jake! Dead

By the way, you gave me my best laugh of the day so far!

My pleasure!

Suggestions? I suppose SCOTS would have a place in this.

A few excellent candidates here, especially Electro III (Die Human Die) and Hell and Damnation.

I suggest including surf hits recorded by studio musicians who were not credited, e.g., Tommy Tedesco for the Marketts playing "Out of Limits" AND "Batman Theme." Tedesco also played guitar on Jan & Dean's recordings among many others. He played on studio recordings all day, every day, for years, so he wrote.

excellent idea, my diy project contains surfy guitar sounds, but is actually more loungy kind of stuff, not the typical surfdrumbeat. maybe you will like it....

Haha! Claude De Balzac! Very funny! Why not doing surf music n this style?
His song "der musiker" is a cover version of "Major Tom", a big hit in 1982 in Germany.

Hey Claude, I got all your uploads, but since you already have them hosted on bandcamp, maybe you can just submit a link to your page?

I can't host 11 tracks from 1 person, sorry.

The Go-Go's wrote and recorded Surfing & Spying as a b side to an early single. Even the Ventures did a cover of it. Cool song, too.

If you haven't heard Marty Stuart's album 'Way Out West', it's definitely worth checking out. There's five killer Surf-Western instrumentals on it. The famous Clarence White B-Bender is heavily featured on the album, too.
