I ordered from crossfirepublications.com listed in John's announcement. Haven't received it yet, but it's probably too soon. Backorders: it was only released (in theory) last Tuesday.

Ditto mine. Greg rushed that sucker right out.

Bob

Thanks Surftone, just ordered with crossfirerepublic. Only $12, helps if you have paypal. Payment is made to greg russo. Comin all the way from NY.

Finally found someone who had "Get Yourself a college girl" on dvd,
released last Tuesday. Got it from an independent seller on amazon. Also, just got Endless Summer on blu ray at the HBISM yesterday.

will this be available at the convention?

www.surfintheeye.com

Yes, the "Surf Beat '80" CD will most definitely be available at the convention.

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

yeah I was wondering the same thing?
a reissue of the Crossfires cd? who later became the turtles,

or another cd from Crossfire Publications, and if so which one?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Looking at the Double Crown website, I'm guessing that Sean meant that Stampede (yes, another Crossfire publication) is also available.

Nice catch guys - I just fixed it. I meant the Stampede CD. That's what I get for working on website stuff late at night...

BigTim,

We're doing the Whiskey album next, so don't worry! Retailers are too slow to order and they don't order enough, so your best bet is to get "Surf Beat '80" from (http://www.crossfirepublications.com). It's my company and I send everything out immediately. No nonsense!

Hate to ask for any more with this announcement but
.... I will anyway. Any chance that "Live at the
Whiskey" might also be coming out on CD? I listened to
that album years ago at a buddy's house and remember it
was incredible.

I'm listening to the CD right now. It's terrific.

Thanks John, and thanks to crossfire and doublecrown for getting this out.
I wore out my turntable playing the LP:>

gary

Woah!!! Not sure how I overlooked this post in the thread... Live @ the Whiskey coming next! Sweet!

I'd hoped we would continue to see more reissues, but always recalled Johns (entirely appropriate) hedging in the interview by Warren on the podcast. The question being what part of the catalogue he has rights to. Good news is it sounds like there may very well be more where Surf Beat 80 came from!

Really enjoying Surf Beat 80, Thanks for the super-stellar service, Greg.

Got this directly from John at Last Thur. show in LA,
Been listening to it over and over in the truck.
Even though I have the vinyl I don't listen to it often enough,
And with the 6 bonus tracks I am really diggin it all over.

Someone PLEASE tell me that "Undercover" and "Banished to the Beach" will also be re-released on CD. I have been hunting a copy of each for YEARS!
