Subject: Donations for Daddy-O Grande
I'm sure many of you are Los Straitjackets fans. Danny Amis posted this message tonight:
"This is awkward for me. Many of you offered to help me with donations when I was first diagnosed with cancer. I told you all to wait until I had an account set up. A lawyer assured me that it's okay to accept gifts, just keep in mind they're not tax-deductible. If it's not too late, I can use the help. I'm now preparing for a stem cell transplant in May. My PayPal account is daddyogrande@yahoo.com. Thank you everyone! If you don't want to use PayPal, a check can be sent to me at 2801 Ocean Park Blvd #206, Santa Monica, CA 90405."
If you have a Paypal account, it's easy to go to "Send Money" and enter his email address above to donate whatever you can.
Lets all show Danny some love and dig in deep.
Thanks, everyone.

The Pyronauts are in!
I remember the first time I saw Los Straitjackets was at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento (they were opening for The Reverend Horton Heat). Danny was playing his Jazzmaster and that was all I needed to become a Jazzmaster guy!
We love you Danny! Keep on Rockin'!

+1
Many of my Facebook friends not in the Surf Music Community became aware of Danny, his music and his condition when I posted the SG101 Tribute video on FB. Ironically, the dedication to Danny is cut off in the introduction.
I posted on my FB page and some of my friends are responding.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Danny!

Billy Woods of the Mighty Surf Lords has suggested that our Reverb Soaked Rock Show in Reno this Saturday night (Apr 2nd 10p) be turned into a benefit concent, in which all proceeds from the show will be donated to our friend Danny Amis (Daddy-O Grande of Los Straitjackets) to help with his treatment for cancer. Thanks Billy for putting this all together, and we know it's not a huge amount, but hopefully every little bit will count...and our best wishes go out to Danny and his family.

In the Chicago area I'm helping put together a benefit for Danny, Thursday June 9th at Fitzgeralds Night Club in Berwyn,IL(Chicago suburb and where the last Exotica took place). Phil & I are helping provide a backline and our band the Cocktail Preachers will do a few songs and our band "Los Santos" Los Straitjacket tribute will do a few songs. Anyways were looking for surf bands interested in donating a performance and do a few songs. If you're interested or have question please contact me. send me a pm.

I heard from someone else involved in organizing this event that a star studed show was being organized for California for the same week. Thats why Chicago's organizer picked June 9th. I guess they are attempting to do multiple shows that week in different parts of the country. Not absolutely sure that info is correct but it made sense. So keep an eye open Jeff.

StevieMartini that is correct
I am somewhat 'involved' working as a go-between with the band's management
Try to see if I can some things set up in a few cities around the US (and I want to include where Jeff/BTD is because of what he's already done with benefits for so many artists!!). I have reached out to a few SG101 show organizers, and they all seems ready to be involved.
Will report back when I am given a "go-ahead"

Bobby D does Surf Nite! in Connecticut, if you wanted to find another person to help out.
I donated. Godspeed, Daddy-O.
