KFJC audio archives of Surf Spot Show here. (During the breaks from the bands, there is recorded music.):
Begins around the 24:00 mark:

Continues with overlap:
http://archive.kfjc.org/archives/1408031453h_surf_spot.mp3
Continues with overlap and completes:

I'm so happy to have access to these archives, because now I can hear the show that I couldn't hear when I was actually there due to the ultra-low volume.

Ha!!!!!
Now that is funny
Good to see ya Fritz cat.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Thanks again for this wonderful show! Smile

Was it really that quiet? I noticed that the mix was a bit unbalanced sometimes.

I enjoyed all three bands, but must say that the Kilaueas were probably my favorite because of the energy and the overall sound. Besides that I was most pleasantly suprised to hear Frankie & the Poolboys play "Moment of Truth" including the piano. That was probably the first time somebody did that since the 60s. There should be more piano in surf again!

Los Apollos - interplanetary surf music trio (Berlin)
"Chaos at the Lobster Lounge" available as LP and download on Surf Cookie Records!
"Postcards from the Scrapyard" Vol. 1 & 2 NOW available on soundcloud and other platforms!

It was unbelievably quiet, someone said it was due to nearby residents' noise complaints. Every five minutes some guy was walking around with a decibel meter checking the volume. My wife (who almost NEVER goes to surf shows with me) said the volume was perfect, which tells you just how quiet it really was. Luckily I get to see Threesome and the Kilaueas again tonight at the traditional ear-shattering volume.
