Let's hope for a super-fast recovery: such a nice guy deserves that an much more!

I've been away from the internet for awhile...just getting the news. All of Satan's Pilgrims send our wishes for Danny in beating this.

Anyone know Danny's age? I have a cousin in her late 60's who is being treated for the same form of cancer and I'm curious.
Her treatment involved bone-marrow transplants. If Danny needs a transplant as well, and he is being treated in Southern California I volunteer to be tested.

Found elsewhere on the internet:

"Some have suggested I take donations, and at some point I think I'll need that help. I’m told it’s very complicated and that if I don’t follow proper legal procedures I could lose all that was donated.
If anyone knows more about that, please let us know."

The troops await your instructions. Best wishes from the uk.

I'd also suggest art auctions though I don't know how that'd work exactly. I'm sure the artists here would be happy to donate artwork to help out with Danny's medical bills.

Danny Amis was born in 1959, I believe.

Los Fantasticos

Wow-a youngster!
Be well Danny

I have not been keeping up on my internet forums lately...sorry to hear about this, best wishes Danny, hoping for a full recovery, as quickly as possible. And wishing you success in the other battle you mentioned against the health care system.

The Scimitars

Holy crap. Best wishes Danny!

Danny posted this on his website, too:

Thanks for the updates Freddie. Do you know if Danny is still in Southern California?
I'd like to play "Tailspin" at the Member Jam next month if I can line up enough players.

last I heard he arrived back in his California home from the European tour

not sure where he is exactly now

I left him a voice/mail message of love and concern but haven't received an answer yet

I just left a similar message and also let him know about my cousin's treatment-which is going well.

Thanks again!

Wow - What a shocker! I was so bummed to hear this. Took the kids to see Los Straightjackets this last year at the Lobster Festival. They were totally in awe. The boys were fascinated by the wrestiling masks and the oldest had to have one. Danny autographed it for him. He was so cool and down to earth with everyone there, taking the time to sign autographs and pose for pictures......Not to mention his musicianship! Amazing show! Our prayers go out to him!

spoke to Danny yesterday

he was chipper and upbeat and extremely positive about what he has to face, and is exploring his medical options

and he is also amazed and very grateful at the internet-spread love and prayers he is receiving

let's all keep sending Daddy-O our "good vibrations" to help him in his battle

Freddie,
do you think that Danny, would be ok with us having a medical fees, donation Jar at the SG101 convention?

Jeff(btd)

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I would reach out to him about it, as I can't really speculate what his thoughts would be

unless you need me to ask him?

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

will you ask him please?

thanks

Good vibrations from Italy to Master Daddy-O-Grande my favourite guitar player and great influence. Seen live twice with Los straitjackets and loved the performance. Tempest is my favourite song and Pacifica is my ringtone.
Danny please inform us how we can help!

Never surrender in finding a surfcaster

I fly out to S. California tomorrow, and there is a slight chance of us getting together at some point Friday night (July 16)

So either later today I will reach out by phone, Jeff, or bring it up should we get together -- and I will report back
