According to a post by Danny Amis on Facebook, he has been diagnosed with cancer (not specified what type) and has cancelled all his upcoming shows. His post did urge people to go out and catch the Los Straitjackets shows so there must be someone standing in for him but I'm not sure who.
Send out some good vibes to Danny!

This is Danny's post from FACEBOOK:
My friends, I have a very difficult announcement to make. Ive had to cancel all upcoming shows due to having been diagnosed with cancer. I dont know how long Ill be in treatment, but I hope to be back out there to see you all again someday in person. Meanwhile, dont miss any of the upcoming Los Straitjackets shows. Theyll have some cool surprises for you, and part of the money will help toward my medical bills.
PRAYERS + LOVE FILL MY HEART FOR THIS COURAGEOUS MAN AND DEAR FRIEND

Danny, the very best wishes, I have no doubt you can win this battle and return to rocking out with America's greatest and most favorite instrumental R&R combo! We need you out there! Good luck and be strong!

Geez, everyone has cancer I know these days! One of us in Jetpack is having a third biopsy tomorrow as (un)luck would have it. Danny, I don't know how many times I've shown people the video of you with The Tormentos playing Tempest and it always makes 'em happy every time! Stay tough and know we are thinking of you.

Danny,
sorry to hear this, and best wishes for a fast/full recovery.
I know that Danny looks at SG101 sometimes,
I hope he sees this.
such a very cool, down to earth guy.
Baja Marty, and I saw him going into a burger joint, a few months back before we saw the LSJ's play at the Galaxy in Santa Ana.
we talked for a good while.
very nice surf scene bruddah.

I spent half an hour with Danny after a gig two years ago, drinking beers and talking about Herschell Gordon Lewis' movies, Russ Meyer's boobs and whatever else
I found he's not just a good musician but a very nice guy too, and I remember that moment with great joy
Danny, I hope you get well soon

Danny, people are going to miss you on your time out from the tour, but, get this thing taken care of, and get back on the stage! It was a joy to watch you guys at the Surfer Joe Fest, and a rocking honor to also do our little surf-jam. The support, and love of your fans will be something to remember while you navigate this. Viva! Daddy-O Grande!
