Hey there!
I've had the idea of making the Blade Runner end-titles theme by Vangelis as surfrock. Sadly I am simply too slow for surfrock, that's why I cheated a bit at the rhythmpart (quite audible) and besides that I am still really far away from real good double picking etc., but then again this is just a short, very quickly and roughly done demo AND I think the idea works very well:

(mp3, ca. 1,2 MB)

The guitar (Strat) was played via Vox Tonelab , the drums are software (EZDrummer), sax and piano are synth.

That's really great. I hope you will expand it into a longer piece. Very nice.

Thanks a lot! I have to practice the rhythmpart, hope I'll be able to do it in one take and then give it a go ;). Sadly I do not know a real sax player and synth saxes don't sound very original. Maybe it won't be too bad in the full mix though.

Instead of a Sax, try a Farfisa tone. Also, the piano glissando sounds a little cheesy, try doing the gliss on your guitar, it will make it more surfy. I know this is just a first try for you, but keep expanding it. It is a great piece of music that you have adapted well to the surf style.

It's fairly cheap too.

Thanks a lot, really! I'll check out these ideas, when I've learned to play the rhythm-part (riff) without cheating ;).
