Glad you Enjoyed Your Trip !! Great to hear you may have found some "dusty surf records" lurking in the "back of the bin" !! I remember looking in the "electronics cabinet" under a giant ancient Ampex set up @ radio station WYRL-WMMB I worked at in the early 80's......down on the bottom was a perfect "promo" copy of " Hit City 64" by the Surfaris nobody wanted !!! Cool, Yayyyy !! Ya "nevva no" !! Surf & Drip On !!! |

I was having a lot of fun with those 7"s towards the end of the first hour. Also a rare show where I think I opened with my REAL heavy-hitters. Couldn'ta been Burt Rocket though... I'll admit I don't have a single work of his. Maybe it's time to work on that. Shepard Samuels, the Reggae DJ called in towards the end of my show about the Earl Stanley track I played, which he had left for me. He apparently represents Earl in terms of entertainment law, and the track I played today, 9th Ward Rumble I believe, was recorded 35 years ago and was never unearthed until 2 years ago. They're trying to have it find its way into a movie like "Pass the Hatchet" did — |
