Permalink problems with my amp!!

New Topic

i play through a '74 Sound City Concord 2x12 combo, and the left speaker seems to be rattling a bit a higher volume. i know its not blown, because its not that bad. im too cheap to pay $30 just to have someone lookat it, so im asking on here. people say it would be a loose screw but i couldnt find one. the box-type thing that holds in my reverb unit seems to be breaking apart, could this be it?

also, i was thinking of making a cab with a 12" and a 15" speaker in it just to get more low end, and just cutting the lower half of my amp off. im sick of carrying that damn combo everywhere, half stacks are much easier to manage. is cutting apart a vintage amp really worth it?
