Hi everyone, I'm Bill aka BigWaveBilly from outside of Detroit!
New to playing surf, me and my bro got to meet a bunch of great bands and ppl this past Saturday in Toledo! All the bands had killer sets and were cool to talk to!
Although partial to Gibsons in the past, I'm shifting more and more to Fenders...love the history of Strats, Teles, and narrow panel tweed amps!
I also play banjo and recently picked up the uke...
Looking forward to meeting more ppl from here and seeing more great surf bands!

Welcome, Bill!
There are some great surf bands in your region of the country.
Besides the already mentioned Volcanos and Hellbenders, check
out the Madeira from Indiana and the Cocktail Preachers from
Ilinois, awesome bands.

Thanks everyone! I've actually seen the Hellbenders, just haven't been able to catch them as the Volcanos. I forgot their other alter ego they play as, but a friend of mine saw them play a show where they did 3 sets dressed as each one.
Got to see the Octomen, Roger and the Wraybands and the Cocktail Preachers Saturday... awesome bands!
Anyone here into carving tikis?

Hey Billy,
I totally dig tikis, but I dont carve.
I bought a 6 ft. tiki that my Buddy Kirby carved.
are you on tiki central, at http://www.tikiroom.com/tikicentral/bb/ ?
if not check that out after you finish the surf search.
Between surf and tiki that pretty much takes up all my free time.
hope you enjoy yourself here.
