Hi all,
I've been (slowly) recording original surf music at home, using drum tracks from places like drum-drops.com. Here's my latest; let me know what you think.

Did you use Goody Drum Drop Volume 1? I might have to check those out! —_ Hi, I'm Gellert, guitarist for The Fintastics. |

I think I've used tracks off both Goody Goody Gum Drops volumes for other songs, but this one was from the Northern Soul collection. — |

Nice, mellow, and a bit spooky. I really like it! —MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. Last edited: Mar 23, 2023 13:56:09 |

Hm, use Addictive Drums - will go a little faster and the drums will make more sense as you will have real drum sounds that you can program yourself with all the breaks, riffs you may want. Downside is, it costs quite a packet, about as much as a (cheaper) drumkit. If costs is an issue, there are other ways to get it, which I don't condone, but you prolly know what these other ways are ;) It's just a suggestion, from one 1-man band to another as frankly, they are too loud and apart from a few parts, just don't really make that much sense given the mood of the tune, which I like. I like dark and moody tunes, especially when the melodies sound merry and happy, but are in fact sombre as hell. If you need tips on how to mix well, just ping me, I will be happy to help. Trust me, it will lift this tune up. Cheers. J. —Albums: https://magnatech.bandcamp.com Last edited: Mar 24, 2023 12:26:21 |

Thanks, Jojobaplant. I'm probably not going to delve into Addictive Drums but I may ping you on mixing. — |

No worries - anytime, I'm here to help you. Since I am in Europe, the time difference may cause a bit of delays here and there, but that shouldn't spoil the fun. Albums: https://magnatech.bandcamp.com |
