Is the Cult album like their Dreamtime album.

Not really but more reminiscent than any other album since Bob Rock/Rick Rubin. Mature and self-conscious (finally gave that native-American chic a rest), it's clear what they were going for. The song I posted is the closest to Dreamtime I think, melody-wise, but all the others are great, real songs, with that 80's British flair (the heavy flanger, chorus and delay are back, reverby vocals, intricate and fronted basslines), far from the Rock'n'Roll Blues based stuff they did for 30+ years...

I’ll have to check it out,
I didn’t hate what they did later.
But I really loved Dreamtime when I heard it in 96,
I worked in a Inport music warehouse.
had never heard or seen anything before Love.

Maiden Heaven - a compilation of covers of Iron Maiden songs done by various bands. On right this second is Metallica's version of "Remember Tomorrow."

My favorite tracks on the CD are "Wrathchild" (Gallows), "Wasted Years" (DevilDriver), "Prowler" (Black Tide) and "Caught Somewhere in Time" (Madina Lake).

The comp wasn't for retail sale, it was only available as an insert with the July 2008 issue of Kerrang! magazine. Took me a long time to track down a pristine copy.

Project: MAYHEM by Hypersonic Secret now available!

Wow would love to hear that,
Is it on YouTube?

"A Slight Cool Breeze"

Nirvana Live at the Paramount.

Say what you will,
It was still a game changer at the time
Worth a revisit.

I'm listening to the Seamonsters album by the Wedding Present. It's not surf but my copy does include Dan Dare, a great instrumental track!

When Swedish 60's garage punk ruled the world...

Well, now I’m listening to The Stomachmouths. That’s pretty great! I haven’t heard them before and definitely seem a cut above a lot of the 80s garage throwback bands. Thanks for sharing!

Cool! They also did some surf at the time...

Oh yeah, that’s cool too! Seems their catalog is worth digging into. Now, based on your location and my general lack of knowledge regarding Swedish underground music from the 80s I don’t have too much to compare them to, but I’m an absolute fan of this song from the obscure punk legends Vicious Visions. It completely rules and with a drum machine even!

I was very much into Swedish punk in the late 70's but don't think I've ever heard of Vicious Visions. Cool song though that reminds me a bit of the Stooges.

Just got this one and I'm blown away by how good all four bands are despite being relative unknowns. This would have been a worthy enough comp if they split it into two.

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

That’s where Space cossacks got 3rd star to the left.
And the 2 other covers they did were the Noctunes versions
Of journey to the stars and space probe.

I’m listening to Paradise Cove by DJ Dotty on GTF instrumental,
Later Fiberglass Jungle on Luxuria,
Then Surfin’ n Rockin’ with Midwest surf guy.

A GREAT and unissued (at the time) track from the GREATEST surf band ever. I have it on the Sleazy Surf Vol. 2 comp and I'm blasting it out loud in the living room at this very moment. Sounds really good considering it's taken from an acetate but unfortunately the YouTube clip below has a very low volume level but you'll still get an idea of the tune's greatness. And don't be fooled by the Strat in the middle of the photo above as the lead guitar was played on a Jaguar by Michael Lloyd at the far right.
