Exactly, Synchro! It’s definitely a leave on all the time pedal. A tone sweetener for lack of a better term. It seems to me best described as a preamp style pedal that adds the mild eq and compression of a blonde showman hitting its sweet spot. A sound that would likely work for lots of occasions seeing as a lot of great tube amps likely do similar things when their tubes start to sweat a little.

Anybody tried it with Quilter? Any sense of using it with solid state amps?

Now I may answer some of my questions
It sounds great with Quilter but surely shines with tube amp. However it looks I will also keep it on with Quilter.
It also behaves really well with some dirt pedals before it, really tight even on low volumes, crank the over drive and turn down output on Blossom Point and sounds like full overdrive with attenuator.

I’m glad to hear it sounds just as good or better on a tube amp, Samurai!
What it does to my tone through my Quilters truly blows me away. Maybe this is a sound that could be achieved with a compressor/limiter pedal and some good eqing but I’ve never been able to achieve anything like this with any of the gear I’ve owned.

One thing I’ve found is that the Blossom Point’s effect differs, depending upon the amp. I like it with any of my amps, but it seems to have its greatest effects on Blackface Fenders. The least effect, is on an amp that is closest to a Brownface Fender circuit, where it still makes a difference, b7t not as profoundly as the difference I’ve heard on other circuits.

Yes, it works different with my tube Palmer and with Quilter. Also I may use full output with Palmer, but should turn it down with Quilter.
But what is interesting - three voicing on Quilter (61, 57 and 65) that are pretty different sounding, become really similar with Blossom point. So it really voices all of them in a similar way.

On my pedal board my Brownfacer comes as the second last step before the stereo maker and right after my Quilter Superbox US. When I play over my Bandmaster it of course is before the amp. I don't notice much difference in sound in both sequences, apart from the obvious difference in sound between Bandmaster and Quilter.
Should I put the Brownfacer on my pedal board prior in the chain to the Quilter, sorta like I use it with the Bandmaster? Due to space concerns I hadn't tried that yet, but since I soon will get a new pedal to add to the family, I can chain it a little different.

Surfy Industries recommend it being the last item before the amp. I would agree, I think that works very well.

I have made several AB tests putting it in the beginning of the chain, in the end of the chain before reverb and after reverb. It surely sounded best for me after reverb and before the amp. Although I didn’t try putting it after the amp cause I need to reorganize all the placements and connection cables for this)

The Stereo Maker will act as another buffer stage, but I don’t think it will cause any noticeable harm.

Yes, it doesn't change the sound, it just splits it in two.

Yes, so far my recordings all sound pretty decent, but I'm always looking to improve it. And if placing the Brownfacer/Blossompoint elsewhere in the chain, so like guitar - effects - Brownfacer - Quilter - Stereo Maker; I can always try that out. I mean nothing else new is added to it, so I don't expect it to drastically change. Stereo Maker HAS to remain in the chain where it is as else the stereo effect that goes to the Audio Box is lost when using it. So I will get cracking on it next week Smile

The ultimate setup would be two Blossom Points, after the Stereo Maker. Smile

Ok, perhaps more seriously, there are a couple of things that seem germane. Virtually all pedals are buffered, when in use. “True Bypass” pedals mean that the pedal is not buffered when switched into bypass, but with rare exception, every pedal acts as a buffer when engaged. Basically every step of the way, in your signal path results in a copy of your signal being made, and that copy goes onto the next stage. So the Blossom Point, when it is engaged, does its Blossom Point thing, has a high impedance input and a low impedance output, which is to say that it makes for a dandy buffer. So this signal goes to the Stereo Maker which has a 1 megohm input impedance and outputs to two 600 ohm outputs. If you aren’t making any major gain changes in the Stereo Maker, it should be pretty much transparent. Just my two bits, but if you are employing any boost, I’d do it ahead of the Blossom Point, or at least use the 6 dB boost of the Blossom Point.

Blossom Point is not an "effects pedal", it is an amp enhancement. It is designed to be last, right before the amp.

When I play on the Bandmaster, it's the last step before the amp. The amp is mono, so there's no point in putting the stereo maker in. When I don't use the Bandmaster, the output of all that is in the chain will go to an audio interface, which has a stereo input. Geven that the Brownfacer/Blossom Point is mono, it would undo the effect for which I bought the stereo maker in the first place. Unless they create a stereo Blossom Point somewhere in the future of course Smile

Or they'd make a stereo Blossom Point in the future Smile A booster step would indeed be an idea and they're not that expensive and not that big, so if I leave the set up as it is right now, this might be a consideration indeed. Or I might just turn up the Quilter, which could also act as a booster. I will think about it, try out the two different setups and see what I think sounds better.
