I was just alerted to the apparently new and updated BeatBuddy pedal. I know some of our listers have used other versions, but I haven't seen any posts for several years. I apologize if I missed any more recent ones.

It looks like the original BeatBuddy pedal, I don't see any differences. The software of the BeatBuddy has undergone numerous revisions (i.e., "upgrades"), therefore it can be called "new and updated." Through a PA or bass amp and speakers it sounds like a live drummer, but not through a guitar amp. It requires substantial set-up work for your songs, whatever they are.

Thanks for your input. I recall you did some interesting stuff with the pedal a few years ago. That's good to know, especially since the pedal comes with a big price tag.

I have the original Beat Buddy version, it does what it does reasonably well but I much prefer my Alesis SR-18, probably because it is easier to dial in. BTW, I only use either one in my home studio, not on stage. The Beat Buddy probably is better for playing live shows, something that I no longer do.

BTW, the SR-18 is a HUGE improvement over the old SR-16.
