Lovely gear you have there.
Just wondering why you started anew, with 2 identical Teles, other than colour?

grayn the Mocha Burst body is Alder and the
Plasma Red Burst body is Ash. Two Tele's yet
different body wood. My Stratocaster is also
Alder. I've tried other guitars and my main
guitar is the Plasma Red Burst. I have been
looking at Hallmark guitars. I love Surf music
Beach Boys, Jan and Dean so I want my sound to be
close to there sound. Would a Hallmark get that type
of sound.

I also forget to post my pedal board

Thinking of adding this Hallmark guitar

Twinreverb, you mentioned you'd like to get a sound close to the Beach Boys, the guitars you have should be just fine. If anything you should consider adding a Jaguar. They used Stratocasters too, really any Fender single coil guitar in the middle position should be able to achieve their sound. Check out old pics in the studio, and even their current touring line ups, I've seen Jaguars, Jazzmasters, and Stratocasters. You may also appreciate this cover band that does a pretty damn close job at recreating some iconic Beach Boys sounds, despite their name, it's not always Fender, but of course they use a Jaguar for the solo...

SandBug I never thought about a Jaguar or Jazzmaster
yet checking out the Jazzmaster on YouTube I like the
neck compound radius the Jazzmaaster has. Should that
neck be just like the one on my Telecaster's then I
might go with that one. As for the Hallmark I would
want to play that first. I don't know if the Jaguar
has the same neck as mt Telecaster's or Stratocaster.

You can see me in that video at 2:25 with headphones, holding a beer and doing nothing. Big Grin

the american ultra jazzmaster with compound radius neck has noiseless pickups that may or may not be different enough to normal jazzmaster pickups to your ears.

Rad!! The Sky King is a dreamy amp! I have its predecessor, the Meteor II. I'd love to have a Sky King, but one thing that attracted me more towards the Meteor was it has a build-in 3 knob reverb. Surf machine!

Great bunch of gear you have.
One thing to keep in mind re the Fender Jaguar is the short 24" scale; personally I love the short scale because I have small hands but for others it can be the opposite. Hallmarks are very cool guitars (very well made) and definitely will do surf (the vibratos are excellent) but with those big, higher output single coils are also great rock, blues and rockabilly guitars. Hallmarks are also as cool looking as they come and the road less taken.

Surfadelphia where I live there isn't many bands
playing Surf music. I have large hands and the Fender
Ultra necks feel and play great. I would like to try
a Hallmark Custom 60 and I have never played a Fender
Jaguar. I do someone who has an early 70's Mosrite guitar
made in Japan for sale Ventures Model VMG-700. I'll
post a picture later.

The artist formerly known as: Synchro

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

Exactly. It sounds like a Jaguar.
The good quality is back.

Hey Ralf, funny, I just bought the same one and it is really resonant. The Tremolo sucks a lot, but this is some easy replacment. Very good bridge (like Staytrem), not quite sure about the pickups, sometimes it sounds a bit hollow, but just a bit. Can recommend this one!

LaFleur I've read a lot about the Fender Dual Showman
being a good Amp for Surf Music and I was wondering would
the Tone King Galaxy sound wise do the same? As you see from
my other post I have the Tone King Sky King. I'm still out
on that Amp not really sure if a 1x12 is better then a 2x12.
