My oncologist is delighted with the results of the PET/CT Scan. I'm done with the current treatment. Up next is a bone marrow extraction, some heavy-duty chemo and radiation to eradicate any hiders, and then a stem cell infusion. Then I come in every day for a month for observation and testing. If at that point I have no evidence of cancer, we start the 2-year countdown clock. If not, we start another treatment plan. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Noel, you make that sound simple. I know that many on SG101 know otherwise. All I can add is you have my best wishes for this. Tell your wife she is in my thoughts. |

Thank you Noel! The cancer was the underlying cause of my dad's passing last month, but the direct cause of his passing was heart failure, which in turn was triggered by kidney failure which was caused by the cancer he had. As it turns out, when your kidneys are not functioning or are functioning very bad, they can release some stuff into your bloodstream that causes the heart to suddenly stop. That's what happened to my dad. Luckily he passed in his sleep, so he didn't suffer when the end came - he has tremendously suffered from the cancer and the other ailments it has caused for the last 2 years. I understand you're doing better now; ergo there is light at the end of the tunnel so to say? I am really glad for you - hopefully it pulls through and the cancer does not return - I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Thanks a million! Great news! My bone marrow test showed no evidence of disease. And neither did my Flow Cytometry Leukemia/Lymphoma blood test. Saved the best for last. My PET Scan also showed no evidence of disease. You can call me NED! All my pretests are completed. My 36-hour in-patient Mobilization begins on May 4. If that is successful, the 2-week at home Post-mobilization will start on May 10. On another note, I broke out an electric guitar strung with 10's to break in my fingers to steel strings again. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |
