Hi, Noel.
It seems that most days I read of pharmaceutical companies introducing new immunology based treatments for cancers. These are often reserved for patients who relapsed after other treatments, and can bring remission.

I hope your doctors know about such new treatments and you have many healthy days ahead.

I know we've never met (yet?), but add one more supporter. Kick it, man.

Thank you all again for all your kind words and support. I do have some tentatively good news on two fronts.

First, my treatments are producing encouraging results. I just had a PET/CT scan after two rounds of chemotherapy, and there is significant shrinkage. I go back in on Monday for round three. There are more aggressive treatments to use if progress stalls.

Second, I have finally started a new music project. A friend I've known for over sixty years has started coming over to restart his guitar playing. Back in the day he had a Bandmaster and Cherry Red Harmony Rocket. We've made enough progress that we decided to form an acoustic surf duo. Our goal is to be ready to play a short set at our high school's 70 at 70 Summer Reunion. What's 70 at 70? Well, we are the class of 1970 and we all are or will be 70 years old. Time flies!

Playing guitar is great physical and occupational therapy for my fingers and hands. I'm getting better control of them in spite of the neuropathy. It feels great to be playing again. My immediate goal is to get back to where I was in 2015 at the Instro Summit and East Coast Ventures Fan Fest. I have my work cut out, but I'm very encouraged by my progress so far.

I haven't sold anything yet. In fact of all things I bought another guitar. I was having trouble with the steel strings on my guitars, as well as the scale length. So I bought a 3/4-size Yamaha student classical guitar. It's my retraining guitar and it's working. I can play it for extended sessions whereas I can only stand a few minutes on my other guitars. Even if I can't play them I can play this guitar. It feels great!

Here's to seeing you down the road. Happy trails!

Noel, thanks for sharing this awesome news! So happy to hear of your progress.

And that's a brilliant idea to utilize a shorter scale length to improve playability, I too enjoy playing guitars with forgiving set-ups, it makes all the difference.

All the best to you and your comrade in your newest line up. Surf translates so well on acoustic guitar, maybe because trad. surf also has a clean tone, each has it's own tonal purity.

Looking forward to the next update!

Such great news, Noel!

Noodling around on one's guitar is good for the soul too.

Some years back Mitch, Woody and I put together an acoustic surf trio. We pretty much played the Surge! set list on acoustic guitars. That was a hoot. I know you guys will enjoy it.

Best Reverbs!

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Great news, Noel. Never give up, never give in.
