Permalink Fender 1X15 cab

What cab and speaker (1X15) did the Ventures use in the 60’s? And is there something like it to find today?

some videos have the fender amps, especially the 1964 walk don’t run “live” video.

so they’re 1x15 fender tone ring cabinets with a jbl. mather cabs and beaver bottoms here in the US will do the cabinet. finding a good condition JBL d130 that doesn’t need reconing (or someone to recone it properly) might be more challenging.

the tone ring is a design that didn’t catch on anywhere else. fender even dropped it for their 2x15 cabinet.

other than cabinet makers willing to clone the cabinet, I haven’t seen anything mainstream like it. a lot of the people on this forum have more compact traditional style 15” cabinets that sound just great with their playing.
