I do a similar setup to Frank and also have that valcoder pedal - it’s nice. Dave at cb was probably not well versed in how to setup your sound for surf since his description of reverb is for a much lighter use than what you’re doing and much more in line with the average user. The amount of reverb we used would wash out a lot of the tremolo effect. That being said, do what you like.
