New Topic
Goto Page: 1 2 3 Next

SiriusXM has launched a brand new channel called 'Surf Instrumentals'. The channel is exclusively available on the SiriusXM app. You can search for it or navigate to their Instrumental channels in the app.

Early additions to the station include modern artists like The Surfrajettes, Black Flamingos, Surfer Joe and Wiped Out. The station also features classic bands like The Venture, The Surfaris and The Chantays.

Wow! I’ve been wanting this. Thanks for info.
I got a new truck in Feb. and was wondering why they didn’t have one.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Any idea who is programming this?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Thanks. Listening now - sounds great! Now I may be spending less
time in the "Underground Garage".

Yeah Baby! h/t BigTikiDude!

Great news.

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

Nice!

Can someone please provide a channel number.....I did not see this listed on my car radio...many thanks !

No number, it’s in the extra channels on the app.

search for surf instrumental, it’s in the choice of 13 instro channels.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Thank you!

Every time I renew I tell the customer service rep and take a survey I want an instrumental surf music channel. Once in a great while Margaritaville channel plays a surf music song. Once the rep said oh I love the Beach Boys....nooooo that's not what I want..more like Dick Dale please.

Happy Sunsets!

After the free 3 month period in my truck, I called to renew it.
I told the lady I would like a surf/instrumental channel.
then said like Pipeline/wipeout surf, not beach boys.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Whoa! Did not expect this to happen. Every time I try out satellite radio I get pretty disappointed pretty quickly

So I cannot listen to this through my car stereo, only on the app?

MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale.

If you have a aux input or a usb input, then you can run your phone into your stereo.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

You can also play it on your car radio using Bluetooth....if you have Bluetooth on both your cellphone and car radio.

Happy Sunsets!

I’ve enjoyed Sirius, but these days I telecommute, so I may go up to a month without driving into the city, so I dropped my subscription. If it comes down to streaming, I might as well just play out of my iTunes collection, which has a bunch of Surf.

Nonetheless, I see this as a positive development. It’s about time we get some respect. Smile

A friend has several commercial free streaming channels on TuneIn. I've talked to him about adding a instrumental surf music channel but he doesn't seem interested. His focus is jazz, Hawaiian and tiki.

Happy Sunsets!

As far as surf radio goes there's a ton of curated options that I think are better choices but this is certainly a nice thing for the health of the genre

I’ll still be listening to Jonpaul, Hunter,
Carol, Dorthy, Clint, Thom, Mary, Guy, John Blair etc. on their shows and stations. And Gtf in general. But as Hunter says, this is a cool option to have.
