As the title says….lol What are those pickups?
Also what pedals is he using?
It was Davie Allans music that brought me to SurfGuitar101 and am re-enjoying his catalogue again. Smile

Davie Allan was using a Rat distortion pedal when I emailed him several years ago. Not sure about the pick ups.

Thanks Revmike for the pedal info.

I don't know the answer to the pickup question but I bet they were stock when the early albums were recorded. The question then is what year was the Jazzmaster.
Davie responds to emails as far as I know, he might have the answer for you (would be nicer to buy his music at the same time, not just ask questions).
Also, you are probably aware that his sound has changed over the years.
AFAIK he started with a Maesteo Fuzz Tone pedal (Skaterdater Rock was recorded with that according to a conversation I had with him a few years ago). Later he moved to a Fuzzrite.
He changed to a RAT pedal at a later point, because, again, according to him, the Fuzzrite was too thin live.
As a side note: Garrett Immel's D67 Audio FuzzMite pedal has a third "Mass" knob to thicken up the sound of the Fuzzrite circuit.

Thanks for the info. I bought the albums I was missing from him directly some time ago but didn’t think to ask about the current iteration of pickups. Good point. Smile
