Permalink Allen Amplification Brown Sugar - SOLD

New Topic

I've decided to sell my Allen Amps Brown Sugar. Easily the most versatile amp I've ever owned - It'll do all the Fender things, from Tweed to Brown/Blonde and into Blackface territory. Sweet, full cleans with just a hint of hair, all the way up to Tweed rage. Very touch sensitive, and you can ride that "just on the edge of breakup" line all day long.

The tone stack has excellent range, it sports the coveted "Presence" control from the Blonde era to dial in some extra glass, and Allen's "RAW" control lets you wind up the mids and gain for even more fun. The reverb is also gorgeous - Everything you want out of a Blackface-style reverb. I also like that the cab itself is a bit bigger than you normally get on 1x12 combos, which adds a bit more room to the tone and keeps it from sounding boxed in like a lot of combos I've played. Perfect grab-and-go amp.

This particular amp was professionally built by an amp tech and checked through by David Allen himself. It's currently a 1x12 with a 12" Eminence Texas Heat, but I'm also including a second baffle to convert it to a 1x15 for even more push factor. Currently loaded with 6L6's (30w) but you can switch to 6V6's (15w) without needing to bias it, which is pretty cool.

SOLD on 8/27/21
