Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could please help me out with this song. I printed the tabs off of SG101, but it seems to be missing some parts. Is there a video or another tab somewhere for the version by the Sentinals? Any help would be appreciated, thanks for your time.

The Bambi Molesters do a great version. This might help.

Here's a demo I did of Latinia to test EZ Drummer's demo SW.

Sorry I couldn't help myself. Advance apologies to all.

Reeeeally cool! Cool

The dearth of backing tracks (RE where my brain is at on a given day) convinces me I've got to get some drum software.
Nice job, much appreciated.
PM sent.

Beautiful! You're a great player! Does it play the drums for you?

Surf Skater, thanks for the tip, but for some reason I don't care much for the BM's version. Smile

I downloaded Riffstation, and it is helping me a bit. Thanks for the replies you guys.

Thanks SixString, I used a group of surf style midi loops for the drums and just stacked them together, EZ Drummer plays the midi files and provides the samples. EZ Drummer is a VST instrument. I used Cubase SX3 to sequence it and tracked the other instruments to it. I hope that makes sense. I'm going to look for the original files and mix down a BT for Badger which you can have if you want it. I guess I can upload it to the site. It's been awhile, so finding the files may be fun. Big Grin

FYI, I'm pretty sure I found the surf style drum midi files by googling it, they were no license freebies.

OK , I uploaded a BT version (sans lead and with a count in for the intro), to the Download/BT area. PLEASE read the disclaimer as it's a bit rougher than I remembered. Smile Hope it's useful.

Thanks for the info, Vintage. I have to admit, what you said is mostly all Greek to me. Laughing Good news though, I learned how to play the song by watching a video of the Eliminators playing it live. They do an awesome version!

I think I found an excuse to reserect this thread. Smile

This is my new band, Bonafide, which does mostly, "other types of music" (no plug intended), doing Latinia live at a club in Prescott AZ last month.

This band is a trio and my guitar rig is a Warmoth Jazzmaster, a '68 Fender Princeton with a Fender RI outboard reverb, and some delay from a Visual Sounds H2O liquid chorus.

Great song...I had no idea so many play it...

Where is there a good Backing track for Latinia besides the one in the Download section?

I miss Tuck (John), the OP.

Rick

Extremely late to the game but I love this thread. Latin'ia has always been a fave of mine and I have always been captivated by that "spanish sounding E to F thing" and the Andalusian Cadence. It seems hardwired into us like a pre-loaded melody receptor. In fact, I don't actually love a lot of surf that is just plain blues without either hints of this flamenco(?) vibe or some of the Middle-Eastern touches. I love the research here, and if there were a whole book just about this song, and the cluster of related work, I would certainly love it. As a kid when I first encountered surf music, I thought of it as "bullfighting music" and I guess I wasn't all that wrong, but I was probably just referencing Warner Brother cartoons.

I’m 100% with you on this!
