Permalink Mojo hand fx Dewdrop - Spring Reverb pedal question

New Topic

Hi everybody,
One question please... I have just borrowed from a friend a nice Mojo hand fx Dewdrop Reverb pedal. It has three knobs... mix, dwell and tone.
I like the sound it has but when the mix knob passes noon and it starts to crank I feel that it does not sound like a reverb but like a delay... especially when I play palm muting it is very noticeable... it does not drip (as long as a pedal can drip... it is not a reverb tank after all...) but it makes a clear delay sound.
Anybody out there who has played with this pedal has notice this? I just want to know if this is normal with this reverb pedal or maybe the pedal I have borrow have some working issue.
Thank you very much!!

Sounds like they have implemented a pre-delay, like the Topanga IIRC. Corroborated here:

“But some of my favorite sounds came from cranking up the Dwell knob. As you start to crank the Dwell setting, you also get more pre-delay which makes for outstanding 50's rock and rockabilly sounds. Also as you crank it, a touch of modulation is added which creates a beautiful chorusing sound”
