Permalink Fender USA Reissue JM/Jag Arm Collets 2000 vs 2013+

New Topic

Did Fender change the collet for the AVRI vibrato along with the arm shape around 2012? Bought a 2000 62 AVRI vibrato and arm (no collet) from a friend. I tried shoving his original AVRI arm into a brand new 2019 collet and it just wouldn't fit. I tried to find an old thread to resurrect but my search-fu wasn't good enough other than Dave Wronski mentioning the arms changed in 2012.

I want to use this arm on my bass VI since it's a good 3/4 inch longer if possible

LEFT: AVRI from 2013 to current
RIGHT: 62 AVRI from 2000 ish

This is true. I tried shoving my 2003 '62 reissue Jaguar arm into a new collet and it WILL NOT fit. I had to buy a new arm (which has a much straighter bend than the old one) and it fit perfectly.

that's what i gathered. thanks! It's a bummer because that extra 3/4" length feels better on my hand on the bass vi. (i fingerpick over the neck pickup)

I THINK staytrem arms are the same length? i may order one or just stick with modern AVRI.
