It's nice to see so much interest in the compilation this year. Stay tuned, I will get it setup.

We've had tons over covers in the compilations every year. It's ok (or at least has been to date).

Thanks for the info Brian.

Is there a deadline for sending in our MP3 track?

Looks like a 8MB file is about 8 minutes tops if not less that that time wise.

The deadline is in the linked news story.

It depends on the sampling rate.

Ok I found my SR 16 Drum machine and Drum kit module rack unit as well. This could get dangerous. I been rehearsing some songs. I have three really good ones to try, will try to fit them in one MP3 if enough space for it. v Cool

I'm out this year. Next year I will dominate. I'm retiring and old people GET CRAZY!!!

Yeah I know what you mean. Cool

OK I have to read all the manuals for my drum machine stuff and Porta studio mixer board I never used yet (Had it like 4 years now lol.)

But I have everything I need but the memory on how to use them, I forgot a lot. That always happens when I put stuff away to long.

I have a host of songs I know - This is a tough decision on what song to do for this. Mad

I really enjoyed that first track. Can't wait to hear more!

Deal with reality, or reality will deal with you.

I'm considering giving it a shot this year. Haven't touched an instrument for ages so this would be a challenge. But I've had a pretty crappy year all around and I wouldn't mind a project to take my mind off all that.

I've just bought a second hand Zoom R8 portable studio... Hopefully I can figure out how it works before the deadline Face Palm

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Yesterday evening I submitted "Crossings" for the compilation. The lead guitar has heavy reverb and the accompaniment includes an unusual interplay between rhythm guitar and organ that is much easier to hear with headphones.

that's great Squid can't wait to hear it. Did you use your Beat Buddy?

Yeah if the used Portable Studio comes without the manual - look it up on the net - there are many manuals you can download and print it out.

I'm buried in paper myself over here. I have three manuals over a hundred pages for my Alesis SR-16 Drum machine, Alesis DM Pro Drum Module rack unit and Tascam 24SD I found around the house and never used. Hope I meet the deadline in a month its going to be close though Argh

Anyway not sure I have time to do original but will try or will pick a song no one usually covers or plays.

Thank you for the track Squid. I'll get this published tomorrow.

I've just submitted my first song for the compilation and it is also my first collaboration.

Thanks to Drumsdick for his contribution.

If anyone is in two minds about collaborating on a song, I say give it a
go.

Based on my experience it's definitely worth it. I'm very pleased with
the way the song turned out.

Hi, Sam,
I use a drum kit for recording. Beat Buddy is only for live performance.
Thanks for asking

Brian, I know this is a time consuming job for you. Thanks for making time to do it every year! I hope more members will upload a song.
