They fought the law, but the law won...caught by the fuzz (pedal) etc....

Fender are quite generous with previous year stock. They can't honestly say there isn't new Fender equipment bargains to be had at all.

Exactly! The last two new Fender guitars I purchased (in 2016 and 2019) were leftover previous year models that were heavily discounted at the local independent music store.

I believe that Fender's MAP - Minimum Advertised Pricing structure was a positive move as opposed to the older system of inflated asking prices with an automatic 20% or so "discount" to make the buyer feel good.
