Permalink Jellyfish Sunrise by Daikaiju... a samurai surf band from Huntsville Alabama

I love this composition and was curious how people on this forum fell about it. I am a huge fan of the Mermen and that is how I discovered these guys... add a bit of psychedelia, a bit of reggae, and a bit of funk on the bass--a real nice combination. When they perform they wear masks and do not speak to the audience... they now reside in Houston and are going on tour. I love it and suggest you make the effort to go see them live... don't worry they burn mostly the Squier guitars as opposed to the Fenders lol

There are lots of fans and threads about Daikaiju here on SG101! They are true road warriors, touring like crazy. My only complaint is that it has been far too long since the last album.

Jellyfish Sunrise remains one of my favorite tunes, not just surf tunes. Daikaiju is one of the most fun and intense live performances you will ever experience. I would like to hear JS live, but I'm afraid it doesn't fit well into their zero to 100 live performance set list. Never miss them if they come close to you... and as much as they tour, they most assuredly will at some point.

EDIT observation: I've seen Daikaiju in the middle of a couple band line-ups recently for upcoming concerts, with some punk and non-surf bands who probably do not know who they are... and I just smile. Never... follow Daikaiju.

Thanks to both of you guys.....I just got a job today so I am no longer an unemployed loser. I'll have to drive 2 hours to Columbus to see the show and then drive back at like 2 in the fucking morning but hey what the hell. ALL IN THE NAME OF ROCK&ROLL!. If I get any respectable footage I will post it here for anyone curious since they are heading your way.... WEST COAST BABY.

Cool, be sure and write us a show report! I'm sure you'll be blown away.
