I know there is some love on Surfguitar.com for these old and very well made yamaha guitars.
A year ago, I bought some parts online from the same japanese seller. My goal was to find the missing ones and give to this guitar all its glory.
But, one years later and with hours of websearchings I am still far to the goal.
This is what I’ve got so far…
- 6 period correct tuners and 12 with the same Bottom shape but a little wider (from Yamaha sa Something I think). These could fit with a little tlc.
- Neck+ body good condition but refin in black… the blue is underneath and need to be save !
- The 12 string bridge, which is great.
- Some of the tremolo parts + the trem arm (not on the pictures) but missing the spring !
- The pickup covers (one grey, one yellowish)
- 2 pickguards one yellow the other one more mint.
- The wiring.
Missing :
- 6 tuners
- All the screws and neck plate
- The pickups
- The nut
So apart from searching for a broken sg-3, sg-5 etc… I am not sure what to do^^
So if, by chance, one of you have some spare parts that I am looking for. It would be great !!
And if you want to know more about those guitars (and their reissues) have a look on my blog: Screaming Yamahas
Some pictures now:

I didn't know they made a 12 string version of that. Quite cool. Only advice I can offer is to keep checking ebay and be creative in how you search for things, since parts can get posted by people who don't know exactly what guitar they came from. For the nut, I would get a new Tusq one from Graphtech.

IMHO, "upgrading" or replacing hard to find tuners doesn't amount to a felony in my book. What are you going to do? Destroy a 6 string 300 in order to keep the purity in the 12? Go forth, and do the best you can. Good luck.
