New Topic

Hey folks, currently, there is no Member's Jam scheduled this year due to seemingly waning interest in recent years. I personally think it's a really cool concept and a unique opportunity to play a tune or two with fellow SG101ers. Is this something you'd like to see preserved???

I'd love to take the stage with you again, if it's available this year. I'm glad you started this topic, btw. I'm pretty sure Don Schott is up for performing too.

Maybe I'm not so hip. What does this response mean?
Sure I'm in for the ride. Bass or guitar; but I will bring only one. I'm between bands right now so it would be a vey welcome experience.

Never really saw that film nor felt any great need to be enamored with it BUT I was suspect of the name as referring to that film. I still do not understand the reference.
Echoes in the Canyon finally appeared in my neighborhood. About Laurel Canyon music scene in mid to late sixties early seventies. Now , that I'm interested in. Always was a BYRDS fan. And Buffalo Springfield , Love and a bunch of them.

I think a cool concept would be to have one established artist or band be the back up and the members could have an opportunity to jam and learn from the legends of surf. Either one person or the entire band be backing the jam

That's a cool idea, maybe you guys could have a Mr Moto jam like they had at the Huntington Beach Surf Museum like 12 years ago.

Funny you guys should say that. It's not too far off from something that a few of us have been discussing behind the scenes.

If all goes as planned, the Member's Jam will return in 2020 with a new look.

That said, we've yet to run any of it by Jeff, and it's his show, so we'll see how it shakes out!

The Bueller thing is like, is this thing on?
Is anybody listening?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I think if there is an enormous response we can squeeze in a 30 min,
But last year seemed like a struggle to get people interested.

Yet we started on time and filled the hour with two full bands and didn't go overtime. I know, sometimes it feels like pulling teeth.
