Permalink Help with learning Catalina by the Los Straightjackets

New Topic

Hello, my band is wanting to work up Catalina by the Los Straightjackets
Im having a hell of a time figuring out the main lick on the song
The melody im not having issue with its the unique chord voicing’s under the main line im pulling my hair out figuring

That's a nice tune. Can you find it on YouTube and tell us what time interval you're wanting help on?

Also, if you can find a video of LSJ playing, you can try to watch and figure out what they're playing.

If I'd stop buying old guitars to fix, I might actually learn to play.
Bringing instruments back to life since 2013.

OK, I think it's the sweeps you're looking for. Here's what I hear. What strings you play these on depends on how you play the melody.

secs notes
7.0 g c e
8.5 b e
10.25 g b
11.6 b e g
13.25 c f b
14.75 b e g
16.5 c eflat g
17.8 b d

Hope this helps.

So ShadowNight, did my suggestion help you with the song?
