Hello, I just got a forwarded email from a friend regarding surf music producer Tony Hilder aka Anthony J. Hilder

This below is from the website of an associate of his, Norio Hayakawa. Hayakawa is apparently UFO investigator, activist, a conspiracy truther and country singer with a touch of blues.

Anthony J. Hilder, author, speaker, conspiracy video producer, talk show host and former actor, passed away on April 26, 2019

Anyway Hilder as most of you know pumped out a lot of music in the 1960s from his California base. Some excellent surf music.

As an interesting aside, when I put up a Myspace page for The Surge back in 2005 or so one of the first followers and comments we got was from Norio Hayakawa. I recognized his profile picture (which is the one that pops up in Google when you search his name) from the back of either a book or DVD I had at the time about UFO's.

Wow, he certainly pumped out a lot of surf music. I see that he had produced a few tracks on Lost Legends of Surf Guitar Sundazed Music ‎LP 5420

It looks a good comp too.

Hayakawa seems an interesting guy. I see he appeared as himself in the film, Area 51 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1519461/

Apparently Hilder and Hayakawa started the "Area 51 People's Rally" to protest about the secrecy surrounding area 51

From surf music production to conspiracy investigation. Interesting life.

There is a short article on Tony Hilder, which includes a discography, in Bomp Magazine 14 (1975), p. 12-13:

In general, he seems like a guy, who did a lot for surf music, but also made a lot of damage in form of bad business decisions. (And I think it's better, if I just skip his political agenda.)

That issue of Bomp also includes articles on "The Birth of Surf", "California Surf Instrumentals", and "Dick Dale". The Dick Dale article was written by John Blair!

Well from what I can gather, Hilder pumped out a whole lot of surf music as well as some latin-r'n'b stuff. There's a lot of vinyl that was produced by him as well as stuff that has his publishing co. Anthony Music on the labels.

It seems in the 1960s, he was a right wing supporter and supported Barry Goldwater. But something must have happened as Hilder in later years dropped that support and became more of a libertarian and trying to fight the system. He also made some conspiracy documentaries about 911 and exposing the Federal reserve.
Interesting guy.

Below is something interesting and I had no idea that these releases existed
