Did some more playing around, here is the latest sound on the Silverface Reverb Unit. Setup is Classic 50's Strat into the Reverb Unit into a Tweed Pro Junior.

I am not a 6G15 expert, nor do I have any comparisons except for what I hear on albums and youtube, but here is my latest. Thoughts?

I personally think your sound bite sounds similar to the built-in reverbs found in many Fender reverbs. It has the "pop," but no life to it. THAT IS MY OPINION, so others may not agree.

Moreover, not everyone shares the same opinion of tone. I may prefer Kurkowski's tone over Wronski's, while others will disagree with vigor. Both are great players, but prefer different styles of playing and tone.

It is kool Mikey that you are changing pots and tubes, as well as posting a clip of the sound so all of those who own a 75-78 can follow your progress.

Because of your enthusiasm, and the fact that I also own a 76, but had to send it out for a major retrofit, I am really enjoying following what you are doing, so I will just sit back and keep my eyes open for your next post.

Too bad you are up in Canada and not here in Southern CA where you could hear mine. My 76 is now, officially a 6G15, but with several internals left intact from the 76.

Mikey,
Maybe you can contact member SanchoPansen to send you the dry tracks that he used for his Reverb comparison?

Mainly you'd want the Astronauts "Movin'" part to test if your tank drips.

The Scimitars

Mikey3, I just stumbled upon this thread. I too have a silverface reverb unit from the mid 70s. Can you clarify, for a true electronics sub-novice, what you modded in the unit to get more drip?

Jay
