Free version Spotify behaves very differently on laptop or desktop computers compared to smartphones. On computers you choose what you want to hear. Commercials appear at times, of course, but it's not randomized as on a smartphone.

Rauta2 is the name of a playlist I compiled on Spotify. I think there is no overlap with the playlist previously mentioned.
It should be findable by searching for Rauta2 or my Spotify profile Venshad
Here is a complete link:

This playlist is past 100 songs now.
Many songs on this playlist are from Finnish Rautalanka bands. It also includes great stuff from very obscure bands. Of course I included favorites by the Insanitizers.

When I first got into surf music I used to listen to Live365, I can't remember what the station was called, but I discovered loads of good stuff. It used to have Dave Wronski publicising the station.
Ah! Good old days!

Convenience can do bad, too. A frictionless experience reduces the perceived value of the product/experience, in our case Surf Music.

Spotify is not frictionless.
Free Spotify has friction as commercials, no available repeats, and no selection of specific songs (on cellphones anyway) only shuffles.
Pay Spotify has friction as subscription costs.
Both have obstacles in requiring internet access (with its costs and limitations), having little to no bass through smartphones (except with headphones or external speakers), expending battery power, and occasional removal of wanted songs.
I just added more recordings I love to the Rauta2 playlist.
