I have a couple, one from ‘64 and one from ‘63. I’m not a tech so I have no answers. But I’m curious about your questions! Please post. My issue is I can’t get rid of the microphony. When I turn the Showman up, there is a specific note of feedback. Putting a heavy blanket over the tank helped a lot. Unplugging the guitar and testing determined the tank to be the culprit. Maybe the old tank needs that chopstick transducer trick? I just remembered about that. I’ve ordered new 6K6GT tubes (not “new” new) and am waiting for them. In the meantime I swapped the preamp tubes and that didn’t fix it. —Daniel Deathtide |

I screwed everything down so I have a base Where my pointer finger is, there’s a red and black wire. I assume the reissue uses a three prong plug, so where’s the neutral wire? Where does the footswitch come Into play and where do the rca cables get hooked up? — |

Hold on! Don't put any power on the wires you indicated! These might be the input and output of the tank. I don't know the exact layout of the RI but I guess the two power wires go into the power switch, and the grounding wire goes to the eyelet on the green wire, which then connects to the chassis. The foot switch will connect to the output of the tank. It just shorts the output. But don't take my word for it, wait at least until someone who knows these tanks can get de final answer. Good lord, if that's all the guts you have you are missing a lot. Starting with (to answer your questions about where power cord goes) the input transformer as shown on the bottom of the schematic on the next-to-last page of the service manual at the link that Tqi posted. If that isn't immediately clear, you shouldn't be messing with it (note the expected voltages on the output side of the input transformer). —Member in good standing, Mentone Beach Syncopation Reverberation Association |

Yes, you are correct, my bad - there's a gut shot of an intact unit here —Member in good standing, Mentone Beach Syncopation Reverberation Association |

The green and black were the output transformer. The red and black trusted pair was for the tank in. Ground was obvious and the black and white went right I to the switch I need to get a headshell and enclosure. Everything appears to be working! — |

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt4--l1nNCN/ I finished the assembly and cabinet. The 6v6gt is shot, so I'll have to wait for that before videos :/ — |
