Hear that? It's the sound of G&L calling to you... It's tempting to go through all my guitars and swap these puppies onto them, somehow. For every problem Fender creates, G&L finds a solution. |

The problem is the solid mass of block under the collet, right? I reckon a metal file and an hour's worth of elbow grease could take care of that if it's the softer zinc crap that Squier uses. Might not be worth it with steel or brass. That GFS setup is nice! |

If it's the pocket which is too shallow to allow for both the spring and the tremolo bar, cut the spring shorter or counter bore the hole a bit deeper in the inertia block. Use a drill bit that will smoothly slide into the existing threads and minimize side to side wobble as you are drilling down deeper into the inertia block. Remember, less is more. ed —Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps? |

I got one of these for a Squier Affinity Strat. No complaints. https://www.guitarfetish.com/Solid-STEEL-Block-Shorty-Squier-and-Import-Compatible-105mm-Chrome-Tremolo_p_24707.html |
