Howdy,
After decades of getting stuck with awful sounding amps at various shows, especially overseas, I need to find a micro amp that has dual voltage capability. We are playing a festival in Spain in February, and many of those types of shows use a rented backline. If we are lucky enough to have some kinda Fender, it will almost aways be in need of a cap job, ands sound horrid.
So, anyone know of a micro head that has dual voltage power? That way i can at least get a clean signal into a speaker, plus use it overseas without the hassle of tracking down a transformer.
Any recommendation appreciated
Mel

Quilter! I'd choose the Pro Block 200.

+1 on Quilter. I have the Tone Block 201, and love it. I've repeatedly heard that the other models are terrific.

The only choice should be a Quilter. I use a PB200. We played with Daikaiju a few months back and they played through Quilters. I have a 63 Bandmaster pumping through JBL's, a killer Blackface Bandmaster pumping through JBLS's but our for our last gig I took just the PB200 and found that it produced all the tone I needed, cut though the mix extremely well and I could get all the grunt out of it I needed without ripping heads off. Very Impressed!

100-240V!
Indeed the original Toneblock 200 tested positively at 12 volts and cautiously over 240 volts.

If you're not entirely sure that an amp cabinet will be available consider the ZT Lunchbox. 120 watts RMS (i.e., "200 watts") with its own speaker built in, weighs 9.5 pounds, dual voltage, fits in a suitcase. It has an external speaker jack. With some external speakers I leave the internal speaker on, with others I shut it off. I've used it for many gigs. It needs external effects for verb, delay, and compression; consider a Zoom G1on.

Quilter. Quilter. Quilter.
Currently I'm using the 101 Mini Head along with a Surfybear Bear (still meaning to post photos) through a home built 4x10 cabinet or 90 watt Mesa 1x12 in a three piece band. I keep expecting to need more power but it hasn't happened. It's wonderful. My tube amp is a dust collector.

Mel, do you have a Surfy Bear yet?
Because that can also be run on any voltage, unlike a Tube Reverb. ;)
What? Really? I thought it was 12-volt or nothing?

+1 for quilter pro block 200. Evan from Boss Martians let me try his out and I was sold. I've had mine for a couple months now. Its louder and cleaner than my 65 bassman. Sounds great through my bassman cab. Great with pedals too.
