I had a 1967 Super Reverb a long time ago. It was a great amp. Try the built-in reverb before buying anything else. It may be all you need.

Yeah, well, 67 blackface is probably much better but I'm uploading a video so you can see for yourself soon. Though, think an outboard reverb tank before the amp will give the power I'm looking for. The amp's reverb is incredible, nonetheless.

So I made a "short" video to show you how it sounds. I actually recorded with two microphones, one condensator and one dynamic, but I basically lost that one due to format issues. So I have kept the other recording I made at the same time with my phone. My phone records sounnd in HD so it's really good, but the phone was not less than one meter from the amp. Anyway, here it is, nothing special and I hope my playing is decent. Some surf and some other bluesy, rockabilly stuff.

Ah, and pardon my accent: not sure what I'm doing there!

That amp works great for you.

Hope the rest of your band is as good as you are.

Well, thanks!

I'm the only one in the band who is surf-fanatic at the moment though!

Dave Wronski used modified Super Reverbs at one time with Slacktone. David Arnson has been using a silverface (no master volume) forever. I bought a mid 70s one (with master volume) and used it for awhile. I was going to sell it, but after I got it tweaked, I kept it as it's a beautiful beast when cranked.

What do you mean exactly with getting it tweaked? I haven't been dealing with tube amps too much so I don't think I could do it myself if I have to open it, but what kind of tweaking are wee talking about and what could it improve?

I already like and it's been fixed by a tech so it's almost as if it was brand new. Maybe they even tweaked it, I dunno..!
