Ive been a little obsessed with Buck Owens , Don Rich and all sorts of Bakersfield twang lately . So just for fun I looked at Teles online . I found a beautiful silver sparkle Tele on Reverb but its not cheap and not in the best shape. I looked around a little at the big retailers and kinda gave up on choosing a tele I would actually put cash on (I wont be using it for surf much , I have a couple strats and offsets for that) . Finally I remembered to try Sam Ash online and I found this

I didnt realize when I ordered that it was really opalish sparkly in real life and was quite surprised to have my sparkle tele after all .

my first tele ...I need to get my own strings on there it came with 9-42 ...Im used t 11-52 or 4 ...but it was easy to dial up some rock a billy tones as is , nice n spanky .

Sweeeet! Very nice

btw......it took me YEARS to warm-up to the Telecaster sound and vibe but now that I own one too, I can't believe I went that long without having THAT TONE in my arsenal.

Can I have everything louder than everything else!

gorgeous Tele!

The Reverbivores - we're local favorites!

Very cool!
I've been working on and playing a few things in metallic silver these days so you could say I'm a little partial.
Congratulations!

Cheers,
Jeff

Cool! What pickups in the bridge? I got an American Standard...put a Bigsby on it and it lost a lot. Neglected it until recently, removed the Bigsby and went back to stringing through the body. It seems to work best. And as said, it can take a while to warm to s Tele. I'm beginning to like it. There's a rockabilly band called the Rip Em Ups and their guitarist sounds great with a Tele

Nice! Love the sparkles! I consider them a must have guitar, their unique in some ways, especially with the traditional bridge, saddles and pickups.

Nice...I am a big Tele fan. If I'm not mistaken that appears to be a FSR (Factory Special Run) Standard Tele.

Don’t forget that you can dial up a great Nokie sound on a Tele...think Diamond Head...

Yes, and don't forget later performances of "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue"

I love the look of this thing but I'm gonna make a few changes . I would like to replace the black neck dots with pearloid ; I ordered a chrome switch tip to replace the black . That leaves the bridge pickup ...has anyone ever seen a tele bridge pickup cover? A quick search shows lots of BRIDGE covers ..the ashtray type .
This guitar has the six individual saddles type of bridge ;Im gonna use that until I get and original type to try ( cant just swap the saddle types ,need the bridge plate to match) . If I prefer that i'll switch .For now it sure sounds like a tele even with the 6 saddle .
Vince Ray the pickups are 'vintage' type ...this is an Ensenada built guitar so who knows what they are ,probably ceramic magnet . Im gonna keep them for now and just play the guitar to get a frame of reference before making chsnges . I'll probably flip the control plate around and try the vol and tone swell tricks .

If you are talking about converting the guitar to a vintage style three barrel bridge you would need need to get a special conversion bridge as a vintage style three barrel saddle bridge does not work for several reasons in a modern 6 saddle bridge Tele. Callaham makes them as do some of the other aftermarket boutique parts companies.

Tqi ashtry wont go on the new cutaway 6 saddle bridges ,wouldnt want it anyway ....I really dislike lipstick pickups ,not my sound ....and no humbuckers . I'll stick with the bridge single coil and if its black ,thats that . I could try a silver metallic sharpie or paint . Im not freaking about it though . Neck dots will be swapped by a pro shop I ve been using for years ,should be no problem . Switch tip should arrive any day now .
So I re strung with my normal 11-52 set and left it over night to settle ..the strings were a mile off the fret board . I tightened up the truss rod , re intonated with my strobe tuner , lowered the saddle heights , raised the pickup heights all to fender spec . I need to find my radius gauge to make sure I match the 9.5" fingerboard but ...Im impressed ;those modern C necks are so comfortable .
This is an Ensenada standard tele ...rather cheap but very playable after the set up and sounds good . I love my mexican guitars ( Ensenada is closer to me than Corona ! ) .
