Permalink Fixing Neck Bow on My Strat

New Topic

I had posted a thread about my 2013 AS Stat that had bowed due to being unstable and reaching the end of the truss adjustment. I have solved this for anyone that has this problem. The key for me was to loosen the truss rod to equilibrium with strings off and clamp it with a strong back bow. I used a hot steam iron it and left it clamped for 24 hours. This seemed to help but in the last year I have found that it has remained quite stable but at every string change I back bow clamp it lightly and apply lemon oil and let the fretboard drink it up. It seems keeping the rosewood from drying out has kept mass in the wood and prevented warping. I haven't had my truss rod adjusted to the end in over a year now.
