Permalink I’m gonna try my pro reverb as my main

So usually I use my 76 super reverb for live shows. I use a 67 bassman for recording. I think I’m going to switch to my 1970 pro reverb for live. I like a little dirt. Along the lines of Brian setzer. Maybe I’ll be able to actually turn the pro up loud enough, live, to get a little grit without using a pedal. I was never able to do so with the super.

Cool. Yeah, 35W, aren't they? Smaller output transformer. I wouldn't mind having one.

That Pro Reverb is my favorite combo amplifier from the blackface period. I used one live for years and the on board reverb was just as good, if not better than, my outboard reverb. Seriously, Fender made the perfect amplifier in the Pro Reverb, in my opinion. I've never been so satisfied with an amp. Even my original 1965 Deluxe Reverb didn't come close to the sounds I got from it. The Pro was just a better all-around amp that I could use in recording and live without any problems. Sadly, though, the reverb on the amp started making a loud and high feedback sound, so I changed the springs on it and solved the problem, but lost the lush reverb the original springs had. I ended up selling the amp shortly after that because I thought it lost its magic, but I regret doing so. Killer amp, though, and you made a good decision.
