Is fingerstyle more energetic than flatpicked? I think it can be, and I tried to make it so here. What do you think?

Thanks much! I am grateful to everyone who comments, yes I am. Previously I used picks. I had to glue plastic fingernails onto my index and middle fingers to play this. —Insanitizers! http://www.insanitizers.com |

Those crafty fingers really moved the song along with some oomph! I enjoyed watching you play. Does your rendition stand up well without the backing track. |

Obvious visible enthusiasm met my solo performance of Walk Don't Run for an audience of a couple hundred at an outdoor concert, with vigorous applause. As just one old guy with a guitar, I did not expect much and I was surprised. The Ventures' Walk Don't Run was as much drums as guitar, so I consider a complete portrayal to include at least drums and bass. Here is a link to the other twang fingerstyle guitar video I recorded, a version of California Dreamin' I rewrote to add tension and drama. I will make a separate forum post about it: https://youtu.be/4jpR__sBr4E —Insanitizers! http://www.insanitizers.com Last edited: Apr 10, 2018 15:17:22 |

Hey Squid you’re right I super dig this also! So many more notes in there, it almost sounds like a different song. Gluing fingernail on?! That’s commitment. Dang! Do you play classical guitar? I’ve always fantasizes about growing out my nails and learning flamenco and classical guitar, nylon string style. I bet if I ever did I would be able to SHRED on surf guitar. DTide, I enjoyed your post, thanks! I developed my fingerstyle approach for twang-rock instrumentals. Although I read guitar sheet music (G-clef) I study classical guitar pieces only to rearrange into rock instrumentals.
