right..... now I'm wishing I didn't sell my Flint. I've gone through 3 x RI reverb units, 3 x Boss FRV, 3 x Topangas and the Flint - they all have + and -

The Flint could work just as well as any of them for what I do, plus the tremolo is great. I don't need full on surf reverb, just the reverb vibe and ambiance about 1/3 of surf reverb.

Do any of you know if there’s a dip switch or otherwise to flip the order so the trem is first and reverb last??

Yes, there's an entire hidden menu on that pedal.

This one post might have just cost me $300.

If you can be patient they come up used fairly often. Have fun...

I’m kind of gassing for this.
I already have 2 reverb units and 4 trem pedals, but I still want it.

You had me at four trem pedals, soul brother!

Cool

Hah. I run two normally. One is always on.
But yeah. The flint.

The more I watch the Flint demo, the more I think it's the best overall reverb pedal out there. The Flint may not quite do drippy wet outboard unit surf but the 60's setting is like the best in-amp spring reverb but with much more flexibility and tonal variation and the 70's and 80's settings are excellent also. Combine that with the killer trems and vibratos, it's actually a deal at 300.00 . I do find it odd that no one has nailed the drippy, wet, surfy sound in a pedal ......yet. The Topanga gets fairly close and the Boss '63 gets the drip but there are just too many other issues with it. I put my money on Strymon to nail the surf drip without the digital issues one of these days.

Hey guys, I love my Flint, but don't overlook the new guy in town.... http://www.surfyindustries.com/

I happen to know a US distributor is being readied for launch very soon.

The reverb has an internal gain on the SB. The trem does as well.
These are sg101 darlings for good reason.

If you are obsessed with having a true surf drip then seriously consider the surfy bear. But if you just need the convenience of a decent reverb and tremolo in one pedal, then the Flint is the one.

I have come to the conclusion that my assembly of the Surfy Bear reverb sounds a bit better than my Fender reissue unit. I use my Fender unit away from home for rehearsals and gigs while my SB reverb remains connected in-line with my home practice/songwriting demo setup.
Had I not been so desperate to get a harmonic trem pedal at the time, I would have gladly waited the impending release of the Surfy Trem. It sounds perfect. I believe the Flint is capable of speeds and intensity that go slightly beyond the Fender circuit but the sweet spots for me are not using those extreme settings. To me, the magic of surf is the drip of the tank reverb and the modulated tremelo of the brownface Fenders. The Flint is great for the trem and passable for surf reverb. YMMV.

If you’re reasonably handy you should just order both surfy kits, and put them in the enclosure(s) of your choice. You’ll save a boatload that way.

I had ordered the Flint a few weeks ago and just before it arrived I took my Surfy Trem off the board to rearrange a few things. I then plugged in and something was missing in a big way. My tone and drip was less pronounced. I don't know what Bjorn did to create the circuit but it's a must have as far as I'm concerned. I want the Flint in a bad way but I sent Fed Ex away with the Flint. Someday I will get it but I can't justify the price right now and the Surfy Trem does a great job. The Flint has so many great features it just seems like a must have pedal for all genre's
