Deathwave by The Halibuts. One of hundreds through the day going through the new (to me) little Advents. OMG, how nice to have a classic acoustic suspension pair coming out of the Marantz rather than the bass-heavy far-field Polk's. (The little Polks are very nice speakers but, as with many ported things these days, more oriented to home theater & blasting across a big carpeted living room.) Livin' large, Surf's Up! I wanted to listen to the new Out of Limits release, but Windows Media Player won't open the file. I think the title might be too long. Have to wait for the CD in the mail. Went with the new Anonymous Henchmen and The Me Gustas. |

Beck Bogart and Appice Live 1973. When the whole world was a jam band and we were all busy getting, getting..... It's ol Jeffy in top form but it's also hilarious as they recorded in Japan and there is very little audience response. It's really good when whoever is singing tries to get the crowd to spell out the word 'boogie' and for every GIMMIE A B! GIMMIE A O! there is dead silence from the crowd. Yesterday is was the John Mayall "Beano" re-mastered CD followed by a copy of the original vinyl LP for comparison Right now I'm listening to the sounds coming out of my Martin and feeling quite fortunate to own such a great instrument. and then I'll get back to Surf/Instro Cheers, http://www.facebook.com/CrazyAcesMusic |
