If you know of any in your vicinity or somewhere else, list them here please. I'm mostly looking for brick and mortar shops.
Thanks,
Ted

Just so happens that my brother opened a boutique record store in Winslow on Bainbridge Island here in Seattle just recently that carries vintage and new vinyl. He's been asking me what modern surf he should have and I'm betting he'd be keen to get some SP records in the store. Big Grin

So new that he's still working on getting the online store on the website up and running - here's the site: http://recordsandart.com

Also, just up on Yelp which has some photos of the store: https://www.yelp.com/biz/sound-city-records-bainbridge-island

Give him a shout and tell him I sent ya!

Cheers

I have previously purchased surf music at Mad City Music Exchange.

Mad City Music Exchange

Bittern market (Victoria, Australia). Not exactly a store, but a market stall by an avid music fan operating every fortnight, and a surf drummer at one point. George and Sue know their music.

I picked up a copy of Creature Feature at Rhino Records in Claremont the other day. I found it in the "oldies" section. I also found a used Boss Martians L.P. in the same section. Found quite a few used Ventures, Belairs, etc... there as well.

They used to have a surf section in used CDs back in the late 90s early 2000s. That bin contained many CDs that turned me on to many bands. Ghastly Ones, Pilgrims, Cossacks! I discovered them for the first time in Rhino's used surf bin! So that place will forever be linked with surf for me.

I'm glad to hear that surf gems are still found there!

Urban Outfitters???

these are my haunts:
Red Devil Records, San Rafael
Amoeba, San Francisco
101 Music, San Francisco (North Beach)

1234 Go!, Oakland

Science friction burns my fingers.

Mr. C's Rare Records in Orange, CA Owner is a nice older lady, but can be a bit of a grouch depending on her mood. Albums are alphabetical by artists name, so you need to know what you want.

Second Spin, Costa Mesa, CA mostly CDs, Check on line for better selection.

Happy Sunsets!

In and around Los Angeles:

Amoeba Records, Hollywood: https://www.amoeba.com/our-stores/
Mono Records, Glendale: http://www.monorecordsla.com/
Freakbeat Records, Sherman Oaks: http://www.freakbeatrecords.com/
Permanent Records, a couple locations in LA: http://www.permanentrecordschicago.com
Poohbah Records, Pasadena: http://poobah.com/?cat=4
(maybe) Vacation Vinyl, Hollywood: http://thejvdasgoat.com/

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

It's not easy to find here in New Orleans but the guy that handles vinyl at Louisiana Music Factory knows it pretty well. They carry all the Sundazed releases and recent compilations, but if you ask him he can point you to anything vintage they might have.

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

'Juke Records' in the Tenjin area of Fukuoka has a section labeled 'Surf & Hot Rod'. Not a vast selection, but I picked up a couple of Shadows CDs there. It's been a few years though, so can't say for sure if it's still operating.

Ferenc!!! don't give away all my secrets:>:>
