+1 To the above comments.

A sincere thanks to Dave Wronski for setting this up for us, and since I believe that Jeff (Big Tiki Dude) and Craig Skelly may have also helped with this, my thanks to them also.

Aside from enjoying the tour, I even had the opportunity to chat with Craig Skelly, Guy Moore and Ivan Pongracic as well. A nice way to spend a day playing hookie from work.

A side note: I'm in the the Collision Repair Industry, and when I told my customers that I'd be taking a 'Personal Day' to tour the Fender Factory (My first personal day off in 6+ years) they thought I was an idiot for wanting to see car parts being made. When I when I elaborated that I was talking about Fender guitars, they understood. As one co-worker said, "Oh. You mean like Stratocasters?" Yeah. Like Stratocasters. Heh heh.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to tour the Fender factory, it was worth the drive!!

I really enjoyed this. Big thank you to Dave Wronski, Craig Skelly, and our great tour guide. It was quite eye opening seeing how these guitars and amps are made.

Thanks for the pics. I'm gonna go cry now that I didn't get to make it. Smile

NICE PHOTOS!!!! I thought Dave Wronski might have made it into a few.

Yes! A big thanks to Dave and Jeff for this! Like Brian said, it was eye opening seeing these being made in person. I've seen a fair amount of machine shops and "production houses", but this really floored me. I fully expected to se much more automation taking place. If you weren't GASing just a little after this, you might need to see a doctor.
